Terms of Service
This document is a draft and has not yet been reviewed by legal counsel. It will be finalized before general availability. Its wording is not final.
1. What this covers
These terms govern your use of the ModOne web playground at this domain: the browser-based circuit and ladder logic editors and the built-in simulation engine. You must be at least 14 years old to use the service. The downloadable desktop application is governed by its own end user license agreement.
2. The service
The web playground is provided free of charge as a way to design and simulate circuits in your browser. Core editing and simulation require no account; the optional AI assistant requires a free account (section 4). Your work is stored locally on your device; see the Privacy Policy for details. We may change, suspend, or discontinue the playground; where practicable, we will give reasonable advance notice on the landing page.
3. Your content
Projects and circuits you create belong to you. Because they are stored only in your browser, you are responsible for exporting or backing up anything you do not want to lose. Clearing your browser data will delete your local projects.
4. Accounts
An account is needed only for the AI assistant. When you create one, provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and do not share your account or use another person's; you are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate an account in case of a material breach of these terms — after asking you to remedy the breach where remedy is possible, or immediately where it is not (for example, deliberate abuse of the service). You may stop using the service at any time and request deletion of your account as described in the Privacy Policy.
5. AI assistant
- Quota. The AI assistant is currently free with a monthly usage quota (currently 30 requests per month). We may adjust the quota or the underlying model as the service evolves; material reductions will be announced in advance where feasible.
- Fair use. Do not circumvent quotas or rate limits, including by creating multiple accounts or by automating requests.
- Your own API key. You may register your own Anthropic API key. Calls made with your key are billed to you by Anthropic and are subject to Anthropic's own terms; the monthly quota does not apply to them. Keep your key secure and remove it if you suspect misuse.
- AI output. AI-generated suggestions, circuits, and programs are produced automatically and may be incorrect, incomplete, or unsafe. Review them before relying on them. Section 7 (Simulation results and safety) applies to AI-generated content in full.
6. Acceptable use
- Do not use the service for unlawful purposes.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, or probe the service or its infrastructure.
- Do not circumvent usage quotas, rate limits, or other technical protection measures.
- Do not misrepresent output of the service as certified engineering documentation.
7. Simulation results and safety
ModOne is a design and learning tool, not a safety verification tool. Simulation results are approximations and may differ from the behavior of real hardware.
Do not rely on ModOne as the sole basis for programming, commissioning, or operating real equipment, and in particular any machinery whose failure could cause injury, death, or property damage. Always validate designs against real hardware and applicable safety standards, and follow the procedures required in your industry.
ModOne is not certified under functional safety standards (such as IEC 61508 or IEC 61511) and must not be used as a component of, or as a verification tool for, safety-instrumented systems or other systems where failure could lead to death, personal injury, or severe environmental damage.
8. No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of simulation results, and uninterrupted availability.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, WK Labs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, or for loss of data, profits, or production, arising from your use of the web playground.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for our intent or gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including mandatory consumer protection laws of your place of residence.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. The effective date at the top of this page will be adjusted. For material changes, we will provide notice on the landing page at least 14 days before the change takes effect; if you do not agree to the updated terms, discontinue use of the service. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict of law principles. This does not deprive you of protections granted by mandatory laws of the country where you reside.
12. Miscellaneous
If any provision of these terms is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in full force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
13. Contact
A dedicated contact channel will be published together with the final version of these terms before general availability.
